Exploring Life Through Art

Today and everyday we celebrate people with Autism by breaking down barriers through creativity. Studies have shown that art and painting pottery can have a positive impact on the lives of people with autism. The National Endowment for the Arts found that Autistic individuals are twice as likely to engage in creative activities compared to the general population.

For adolescents with Autism, art therapy has been found to improve social interaction, communication skills, and sensory integration. Additionally, pottery painting can enhance hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills. In Color Me Mine studios, kids may come with a trusted adult to enjoy the journey of pottery painting at their own pace.

For adults with Autism, engaging in art and pottery has been shown to reduce stress, improve overall well-being, and provide a sense of accomplishment. A study conducted by the National Autistic Society found that 76% of adults with autism reported that engaging in creative activities helped them to manage anxiety. This can be particularly beneficial for those who struggle with social interactions or sensory processing challenges. Back to School

The back to school season is upon us! Backpack, check! BTS shopping, check! Look into after school art classes, check! Add to that BTS spirit with the following tips. Paint your own back to school themed pottery for your new teachers or as desk supplies at home or in the dorm!

#1 – Get the morning routine down.

Get out the door faster by selecting outfits the night before, setting an alarm, and making sure your backpack has all the day’s binders, homework, etc.

#2 – Plan meals.

Create a grocery list at the duration of each week to help you simplify making and packing the upcoming school week’s snacks and lunches.

#3 – Sign up for after school art education.

Art classes can encourage focus, concentration, and creativity. Check with your local studio here to see if there are after school art programs or events.

#4 – Celebrate the first week of school!
